Life as the Decisive Element: On Spirituality, Religion, Ritual and Routine
There is no one “right” way to ground your energy.
“I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather.”
―Haim G. Ginott
Ahhh-tonomy. My nearest, dearest friend.
It is the blithe greeting of maturity, as we transition from girlhood into womanhood. It is a rite of passage, almost: the recognition that we hold self-governance. It is the realization of your right to be guided by the principle of non-credo: your access, your choice to state that “I do not believe”.
Autonomy. Non-credo. Our birthright.

I’ll admit: it’s been a delicate dance staying mum on my religious beliefs while creating content for social media. It is no longer the decision of whether to include my Christian beliefs into Blithe Health- I’ve decided it’s more important to be strategic with how often I detail my Christian journey, and how much.
My trepidation stems from a desire to ensure that in no way, shape, or form do I aim to impose my religious beliefs onto another person. However, much of what is Biblical is parable and proverbial; take for instance the ‘golden rule’ (“do unto others as you would have done unto you” Matthew 7:12). I do aim to deliver Biblical principles without the impression of there being any ulterior motive in an attempt to convert you into a follower of Christ. My disburdening does not always occur in the same way, and it is more often than not time spent in Bible study, or quiet conversations with God.
So maybe you prefer meditation. Or possibly crystal healing. Or perhaps you pray to the universe, or a god of some other name. Therein lies the beauty of self-care: there is no one right way to ground your energy, because self-care is selfish, and this is all about what works for you.
So consider today- what will be your go-to ritual or routine to disburden your troubles and inspire your blithe morning? As presented above, Haim Ginott states that your outcomes are predicated on your personal approach and daily mood. Your autonomy is hardwired for independent choice, and the choice is all yours.
You are the decisive element, after all.
