My Blithe Morning.

I've always been an early riser.

Most mornings, my body's rhythm has me set to wake up around 615am. I'm also a morning person, and I feel most efficient when completing tasks prior to 11am. I function optimally in low light when night falls (I can't stand room lights at night... only lamps), but open blinds and windows are a must during the daytime.

Once out of bed, I turn on two essential oil diffusers in separate corners of my apartment, and then I start my espresso machine. Then, I'll sit and process 'thoughts & feelings': do I have any remnant thoughts or feelings left to unpack from the previous day's disburdening?

Huge non-negotiable: I wash my face and brush my teeth before I do anything else. Then, it's time to shower. I follow this up with my skin care regimen, makeup, and then I sit with my coffee while I look over my day. I usually don't listen to music or watch TV in the morning.

Overall, the start of my Blithe Morning is the product of a lot of depth and introspection: the result of a nightly disburdening practice.

Think it over: what does your Blithe Morning look like?
